Whitepaper The card

The Glitch Card

An ATM card from a bank that is not a bank. Buy a blank, burn $GLITCH to activate the tier you choose. 8,888 cards, fixed for good. Identity and status, nothing that pays.

Everyone in Glitch County carries a card for the ATM that will not stop. The Glitch Card is that card: a collectible on Solana that works as your avatar and your badge in the crew.

The card is identity, and a reason to stick around after November 19. It is not a price lever, and it pays nothing. If you are looking for yield, this is not it.

How it works #

Step 1: buy a blank #

Blank Glitch Cards go on sale after $GLITCH launches, never before. A blank costs 0.1 SOL, plus the network fee to mint it, about 0.003 SOL. There are 8,888 blanks, sold in four waves of 2,222, up to five per wallet in each wave. No follows, no posting tasks, no referral links. You sign one transaction on the card app and the blank is yours.

A blank is an ordinary NFT. You can hold it, sell it or give it away, and whoever holds it can activate it.

The card app lives at its own address, published on the site and in the pinned post. glitchonsol.com itself only asks for a wallet on /buy, to swap.

The SOL from blank sales goes to the crew's wallet. It pays for running the project, and it is the only money the team takes from the card.

Wallets that bought $GLITCH in the first days after launch are recorded and carry a founder mark on the site. We record first and announce afterwards, so it cannot be farmed.

Step 2: activate, and choose your tier #

A few days after launch, once there is a real trading range to set amounts against, activation opens. You choose a tier, then burn your blank and that tier's amount of $GLITCH in a single transaction, and the card is minted to you in the same transaction. Either all of it happens or none of it does: if someone takes the last card of a tier a moment before you, your transaction fails and nothing is burned.

You get the tier you choose. No randomness, no packs, no rolls.

Tier Supply What it says
Debit 4,650 You activated. You are in the crew.
Gold 3,000 Committed.
Platinum 888 Very committed.
Black 300, one per wallet The county knows your name.
Infinite 50, one per wallet ∞.

Each tier's supply is fixed in the minting program and can never be raised. When a tier is gone, it is gone. The burn amount for each tier is published when activation opens and then does not change. The card changes metal with the tier, from pink lacquer to gold, platinum, black and iridescent titanium, so your status reads even as a tiny circular avatar.

The $GLITCH you burn is destroyed. None of it goes to the team. See The burn.

Step 3: upgrade season #

After November 19, when the game is out and the countdown is over, upgrade season opens: burn your activated card plus more $GLITCH to mint the next tier up, while that tier has cards left. Same identity, higher tier, no new collection diluting the old one.

What the card does #

  • It is your avatar across the crew, in a style built to work at 48 pixels.
  • Your tier shows on the site, as flair on the wanted board, the leaderboards and the trophy case, and as a role in the Telegram group once holder verification is tested.
  • It opens holder-only channels and holder-only drops of art and stickers.
  • It gives you a place on the county leaderboards and in community burn milestones that unlock new art for everyone.

What the card does not do #

  • No staking, no yield, no revenue or fee share.
  • No airdrops promised by tier.
  • No prize pools funded by burns.
  • No promise that the team's work will raise the card's value or the coin's.

Trading #

Blanks and activated cards can both be traded on Magic Eden and Tensor, which support Metaplex Core. They are separate collections, so a blank never passes for a card. Royalties are set to zero so nothing stands between a holder and a buyer. A visible market is part of how a status collectible signals. It is not a promise that one will exist at any price.

Supply #

8,888 blanks and 8,888 cards across the five tiers, one card per blank. That is the whole collection, and there will never be more. An ∞ on its side is an 8. A blank that is never activated is just a blank, so the number of activated cards can end up lower.

Technical notes #

  • Format: Metaplex Core, which the main Solana marketplaces and wallets list as fully supported.
  • Two collections: Glitch Card · Blank, and Glitch Card.
  • Minting: one Core Candy Machine sells the blanks, and one per tier activates them, each holding exactly that tier's supply. Activation uses the machine's burn rule, so the blank is destroyed inside the mint transaction itself.
  • The burn check: a small co-signing service approves an activation only when the same transaction burns that tier's amount of $GLITCH. Metaplex's standard rules cannot burn a Token-2022 coin, the kind pump.fun creates by default, so this one check runs in our service rather than on-chain, and its code and settings are published. Its key holds no funds and no authority over either collection. If it were stolen, the worst case is activations without the $GLITCH burn, never extra cards, because the supply caps and the blank burn are enforced on-chain.
  • Artwork is stored on permanent storage, not on our web host.
  • Every step is rehearsed on the test network, then with two real cards on mainnet, before any date is announced.
