The story
Glitch County, the ATM behind the laundromat and the one suspect. The fiction every post, sticker and game on the site comes from.
Somewhere on a Florida-shaped stretch of coast there is a county the maps spell wrong. Glitch County. Neon strip malls, a port where everyone who sold early ends up, a swamp full of airboats, and a line of pink islands off the southern tip with turquoise water and zero witnesses.
Behind a laundromat in Glitch City there is an ATM. One night its screen flickered to a single line:
ERROR ∞. Please take your cash.
It has been dispensing ever since. Nobody knows why. The bank, which is not a bank, has a technician scheduled. The work order says November 19, 2026. That happens to be the day the biggest game in the world comes out, so nobody is coming to fix anything before then.
The suspect #
A flamingo in a black paisley bandana was standing at the right ATM at the right time, and has not left since. Tall, pink, extremely calm. He filled a duffel bag, did not ask questions, and when a reporter finally caught up with him, he said "no comment" and left with the bag, the coffee machine and the weather girl's umbrella.
His name is Glitch. The county sheriff has him on a poster for unauthorized withdrawals. Reward: infinity glitch bucks.

The money #
The machine does not pay in dollars. It pays in glitch bucks: bills with an ∞ where the number should be, plus a few rarer denominations that come out when the screen stutters: 404, NaN and ERROR. They are worth exactly what you think they are worth. That is the joke, and we never pretend otherwise.
The rule of the world #
The glitch lasts until the patch, and the patch is November 19. Everything in Glitch County counts down to it. The radio keeps saying "still not November 19". The ATM's status line changes as the technician gets closer.
What happens at midnight on the 19th? The technician arrives. The game comes out. We all go play. And the county stays exactly where it is, because a place does not stop existing when a countdown hits zero. The Roadmap covers what happens after.
